LawGroup was formed in 1988 to provide solicitors with access to an innovative and effective response to the challenges facing the legal profession.

The Profession is at somewhat of a crossroads, not only because of the Legal Services Act and the new rules on corporate structure and proposed investment, but also because of what is quickly becoming an enormous attack on our market from the institutional providers of commoditised legal services.
Radical change is inevitable and the sooner solicitors begin to respond the better. This is not least because other potential entrants to the market have spotted the opportunity and are already beginning to mobilise.
This is an exciting time of opportunity for the legal profession, or at least those that wish to take advantage, and we will continue to do what we can to ensure that firms associated with LawGroup are on the crest of the coming wave rather than watching it go by.

A Year of Opportunity
Even in the current economic conditions, firms can still do a lot to improve their position.
Our very strong advice is that firms should use one of our Lexcel programmes to help secure Lexcel accreditation.
We have two Lexcel programmes, each of which guides firms through the process of securing accreditation.
Assisted by our Law Society-trained Lexcel Consultants, and using our proprietary materials firms follow a programme to ensure the firm is compliant with the Standard.
Lexcel Step by Step
This programme guides firms to acquire the kite mark over a 6 month period.
Lexcel Blitz
A programme for firms that wish to commit resource to achieving Lexcel within a shorter period.

The Lexcel quality mark works for your firm at several levels:-
· Preferential treatment with Qualifying Insurers for PI Insurance;
· A sign that you provide a quality service;
· A framework for you to develop efficient systems;
· Evidence to the SRA that your firm complies with the Solicitors Code of Conduct.
